Music is a huge part of how I write. It inspires, it evokes a mood, it can transport me anywhere I need it to. When writing each of the novels, they developed their own playlists. These are songs that thematically follow the story and events as they play out.

When creating playlists, I am conscious of the year the story is set. For instance, Judas Kiss is 2008/2009 but The Devil’s Due is 2015 (onwards). So any tracks I use were released before (and running up to) those dates.

I have a public playlist for each of them on Amazon Music which you can listen to (links are below). However, if you want to create your own on Spotify, I have listed the tracks and artists as well.

Until 2024, there had not been a song that I felt connected to all the stories - that was until Nightwish released Perfume of the Timeless. That song spoke to me in ways I cannot put into words (ironic, I know!). It also sent me tumbling back into the this world after almost four years away, and I am now creating the fourth novel. So this song breaks my rule about the playlist, but it was my rule and I can break it if I want to.

If you want to hear the song that, for me, sums up this crazy ride it is this one….

JUDAS
